MPU Computing Students Won the Third Prize in Huawei ICT Competition 2024-2025 APAC Final Innovation Competition

The Huawei ICT Competition 2024-2025 APAC Final is organised by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and co-sponsored by the ASEAN Foundation. Students from the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FCA) of Macau Polytechnic University (MPU) have achieved remarkable results in the competition and secured the third prize in the innovation track. This accomplishment underscores the exceptional performance of Macau Polytechnic University in the realm of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
The Huawei ICT Competition 2024-2025 comprises five tracks: Innovation, Network, Cloud, Computing, and Teaching. This year, over 110 students from 12 countries and regions distinguished themselves from more than 8,000 applicants and advanced to the Asia and Pacific (APAC) finals. Three MPU Computing students, Chan Ngai Seng (Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Applied Technology), Guo Yuxuan, and Sun Yuefeng (Bachelor of Science in Computing), won the third prize in the Huawei ICT competition, Asian Pacific Final, in the Innovation Track. Under the supervision of Associate Professor TANG SU KIT, their Thermal-Driven Re-Identification Engine was unanimously recognised by the judges and ultimately secured the third prize.
